At Semester's End

I think i have come a long way since the beginning of the semester. I feel like working with line comes a lot easier now and creating depth is something I've gotten better at. What i liked the most involved value which gives me hope for drawing 2.

Week 13 classes

I have found my true love and its name is cross-hatching. Pen has always been a favorite of mine so i have really been enjoying the in-class assignment and cant wait to do the homework. I did have a few screw ups though in class and hope to have a steadier hand for the homework.

week 12 homework

This was my favorite homework assignment so far. I love using the conte for value. I wanted to go a little more crazy with the value but decided against it. I enjoyed getting gestural.

week 12 classes

I really enjoy using the conte now surprisingly. Value is my thing so I'm really enjoying the little we get to use.

11-2-09 homework

The homework was a challenge for me. I'm not used to drawing something with that much space. I drew the playground in the park across from the school. I didn't include any figures.

10-21-09 Homework

Charcoal blind contour drawing- i found it fun and pretty easy and relaxed.















Conte blind contour-also fun and easy but was hard to get line variation.

















Stick and ink blind contour-thought it would be fun but it wasnt. It ran out of ink too quickly.















Ink with Bamboo brush-was hard to get line variation.

10-05-09 class

Class was okay. I was nervous about doing the still life because it was midterm. I wasn't a big fan of the conte, it was hard to work with and smeared easy. It was also hard to use with a ruler. I'm ready to get my drawing done Wednesday!

week 6 homework

This homework assignment was fun for me. I did mess up on the perspective which was aggravating but i fixed it. I learned that charcoal really is a bitch to erase.

The homework assignment drawing the sheet using planes was a bit challenging and I'm not sure if i did it right. The multimedia paper was very sexy though.

9-21-09 Class

I enjoyed drawing with the planes. Some parts were difficult and i still need to work on pushing my lines.

Free Hand Perspective Homework

I found the homework a bit challenging. It was hard for me not to have a vanish point. I will need to practice on that.

Wednesday's classwork was a bit more complex than the rest of the classwork work has been. Drawing things to look in perspective without using a horizon line and vanishing points is something I will have to work more on.

Homework 1

I found the homework assignment somewhat easy. The most difficult part was coming up with different line variations after about the fifth band. The assignment was pretty straight forward on what we were supposed to do. I think the purpose of the assignment was for us to explore different line variation and how each line correlates with the lines in the same band, whether it be dark to light, the manipulation of positive and negative space, or the different softness of the pencils being used.
